5 Months Old!

I feel like I just posted the 4 month update, and here we are again! So, this month we got our first tooth, and the second is on its way. Addison has perfected rolling around, and that she does! We ditched the nightime swaddling as a result. She did better than I expected with it, she stills sleeps the same intervals.

This month she has also learned to understand distance better. She reaches out for things within her range and grabs on to them. She is also intrigued by texture. She rubs her hands and feet on everything! And speaking of feet, she has discovered hers. Just this weekend she was doing the typical baby pose of lying on her back grabbing her feet. It was cute! At night while drifting off to sleep she scratches her nails on the sheets or rubs her face in a blanket. The bug is even getting more ticklish. She laughs like crazy if she is tickled under her neck or arms.

We can't wait for more of this warm weather so we can try on our new bathing suits and jump in our pool! We also can't wait for that first boat ride!

"A" Is For Addison!

Check out the adorable shirt I had made for the Addie bug. She even has a matching bib. She also has a blanket and some pants with her name on them :) I couldn't resist!

Brunch With My Aunties!

Such a fun morning with both of my old roommates! Lots of baby conversation going around. Luma is pregnant with a little boy (Zaide) due in August; And Jen's sister is due with twin boys in September! Way to go, Megan...such an overachiever as your sister says :)

Addie did pretty good in her new booster high chair. She really prefers to be up where the action is, even if she is just going to ignore us and play with her toys :) She eventually got cranky and fell asleep in her auntie Jen's arms. So sweet!

Did we tell you about the tooth?

It's here!!!! Addison got her first tooth on April 10th. And we are now working on the second! She got her lower, middle, right tooth. The left one is almost out. I guess

that explains the drooling, crankiness, fussy, and biting that we have endured. I tried to get a shot of it, but no luck! She likes to stick her tongue out though!

Yeah; She cute!

Addie is becoming such a big fan of her high chair. She likes to sit in it while I do things around the kitchen. She hangs out with her friend, Leap the learning frog. Roger and I can pretty much sing the alphabet song he sings in our sleep :)

Mostly I think she like it becasue she knows she gets to eat when she is in it!

Now that I can roll over....

Now that she can roll all over, Addison finds her playmat MUCH more entertaining :)

Jumpin, Jumpin, Jumpin!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Addison is finally getting the hang of this jumping thing. She can actually reach the floor now. It's quite entertaining watching her bounce, makes me want to bounce with her.

Check out her bouncing here.

Yummm, Oatmeal!

Addie had her first taste of oatmeal tonight. She liked it! Of course she drooled a ton of it out, but she was eager for more after each bite. I wasn't shocked, my kid will eat anything!!

My First Easter!

Addison's first Easter basket included a Fluffy purple bunny from her Great Grandma Geri, a nuby sippy cup, Leap the learning frog. a highchair tpy, and a frog dressed up as a bunny for Easter from her Auntie Jen.

4 Month Stats

At Addison's 4 month doctor appointment today we got new stats on our little bug. She weighs 14 pounds 11 ounces, putting her in the 75 percentile. She is 24 3/4 inches long, also in the 75 percentile. Such a big healthy girl!

The doctor was impressed with her ability to roll over both ways. She also noted that she is close to sitting up. She witnessed her pulling forward and attempting on her own. She topples to the side, but I guess we are start somewhere :)

We were given the ok to start oatmeal. We'll give this new thing a shot tomorrow night and she how she does. I've been putting her in her highchair and letting her play with toys in it for a few weeks now. I didn't want to overwhelm her with too many new things at once.

Then we got those horrid, horrid shots. Poor thing! But she was a trooper!

We go back in 2 months for our 6 month appointment!

Before I was a Mom..

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
